A paper titled "Fire-Works: An Interactive System Based on Breathing Patterns to Support Social Interactions Among the Oldest Old Living in Long-Term Care Facilities" has been published in CHI EA'25: Proceedings of the Extended Abstracts of the CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems.

The paper was authored by Xi Zhang, Jiakun Pei, Chuisong Chen, Seungwoo Je, and Mirna Zordan. It introduces an interactive system designed to help elderly residents in long-term care facilities connect socially through breathing patterns.

The research explores how breathing can be used as a natural interface to create shared experiences among older adults who may face physical or cognitive limitations.
